The Western
Textile Services Association was
founded in 1911 to serve the needs and interests of both industrial and linen supply
owners along with those firms who are suppliers to the laundry industry. Today,
with a combined membership of 150 laundries and 80 suppliers, the Association provides
programs and services in education and governmental relations, as well as critical
and current information including:
Annual Clinic and Hot-Topic
Forum: This 24-hr Clinic is held on a Thursday and Friday every winter,
usually in late January and features tours of 1 or 2 Industrial and/or Linen plants,
as well as a Full Breakfast and Hot-Topic Forum, covering issues most concerning
our industry today. The location of each clinic is based on which plants we tour
that year.
Annual Convention: Our Annual Convention normally takes place in summer or early fall at a high-end
resort destination. Traditionally, it is a 3-day program that provides business,
educational and social opportunities for WTSA members. The schedule includes educational
programs for members and spouses alike, optional tours, our annual golf tournament
and special events every evening. Our Allied Trades members are an important part
of this event and often sponsor a party or hospitality suite for members to enjoy
each night.
Networking: Perhaps
the most important benefit of membership in WTSA, is that this association is a
forum; a network for members to dicuss mutual problems and opportunities, as well
as establish friendships and business relationships. We want members to feel that
they can reach out to WTSA staff as a resource for research and problem solving
on any topic. If we can't help you, we'll find someone that can.
Informative E-Newsletter: WTSA's Newsletter is e-mailed to members to keep
them updated on upcoming WTSA events, as well as insuring they are as informed as
possible with current happenings in the industry.
